Da ging
der Mann hin und war ganz bekümmert,
daß seine Frau König werden wollte.
Das ist nicht recht und ist nicht recht,
dachte der Mann. Er wollte gar nicht hingehen,
ging aber doch hin.
Und als er an die See kam, da war die See
ganz schwarzgrau, und das Wasser gärte
so von unten herauf und roch ganz faul.
Da stellte er sich hin und rief: »Manntje,
Manntje, Timpe Te,
Buttje, Buttje in der See, myne Fru, de
Ilsebill,
will nich so, as ik wol will.«
»Na, was will sie denn?« sagte
der Butt.
»Ach«, sagte der Mann, »sie
will König werden.«
»Geh nur hin, sie ist es schon«,
sagte der Butt.
